I came to play the Downs course and was interested in becoming a teaching pro. I had met Stuart, (the General Manager) and he suggested I work here to see what it was like. My first role was that of Golf Host, which involved meeting and greeting members and preparing all the services that we provide here.

Any funny anecdotes?
My favourite story has to be during the Golfing 4 Life event, our General Manager and the former US open champion were standing on the first tee and one of older members, who drives his own buggy, lost control and they both had to dive out the way. This was met with a lot of laughter though thankfully no injuries.
Tell us about how you worked your way up to your current role?
My current role came about almost of my own accord, I left Goodwood and when I came back realised that our members needed someone to personally look after them. My job involves liaising with our members, getting their feedback and trying to bridge the gap between new members and regulars.
My alarm goes off at…
Either 6 am or 8 am depending on whether I am on the early or late shift.
I’m responsible for …
The customer experience and making sure our members are happy!
I got my job…
In 2014 with the view of becoming a golf pro
My typical day involves…
A lot of conversation, checking in all the golfers.
My most memorable work moment…
Playing a round of golf with Liverpool legend Dean Saunders.
The worst part of my job…
The cleaning.
The best part of my job…
The relationships I develop with the members.
After work…
Varies between family and friends and playing golf.
The best thing about working at Goodwood…
The extra opportunities I have had – and the fact it is such an open-minded golf club. I have been able to pursue a career in the media through our Facebook live, meet celebrities and help with sales, all within my role.
What have you discovered (about working at Goodwood) that you never would have known before?
Just how many people visit the estate from all over the world and how involved the Duke is in the day-to-day running of the place.
Who (at Goodwood) would you most like to swap places with for a day and why?
I think as one of the pilots at the Aerodrome. Not a bad way to spend the day!
