You can see we have a diverse range of businesses and therefore a diverse range of roles! Below are some very short interviews with a few of our brilliant team and what they say about working for Goodwood;

Isobel Starbuck (Head of Estate Sales)

What attracted you to Goodwood?
The diversity of Goodwood, the fantastic events and top-class hospitality that the Estate offers and the fact that the business is family run.

When did you join us?
February 2009.

What do you love most about working at Goodwood?
That one day is never the same – every day is a learning day. I work with the most fantastic people and in one day can speak to a shepherd, a chef, a CEO of a top corporate company and a butler.

How would you describe the culture at Goodwood?
One team working together to provide great customer experiences. It’s a hard working culture that likes to have fun and make work enjoyable. We are all proud of what we do and look after each other.

What has been your best Goodwood experience so far?
So many to choose from, but doing a loop the loop in the Harvard stands out – totally exhilarating and what an amazing warbird plane.

What social activities do you take part in at Goodwood?
Christmas parties, team nights out and quiz nights.

Tell us something most people don’t know about you?
I started my career in hospitality working in a seaside town fish & chip shop.

What makes you laugh?
Hearing my daughter giggle.

Ian Stevens (Clerk of the Course)

What attracted you to Goodwood?
The fact that I did my first event here in 1980 and started as a casual in mid-1990 on the payroll; before becoming full time in 1998. Just the atmosphere and presence of being at Goodwood was enough.

When did you join us?
As explained above - volunteer to casual to full time; 1st Revival Year.

What do you love most about working at Goodwood?
I have settled into a multi-tasking role since joining Goodwood. I used to divide my time between Duty Crew, the Motor Circuit, Security and buffing the ballroom floor. Being on the Motor Circuit and Aerodrome site, living and working around my job, enjoying my own work pattern (which may not suit everyone).

How would you describe the culture at Goodwood?
Very much the civilian equivalent of Service life. The people joining now are a lot younger, and the staffing level has grown by five times the amount, but with more freedom and obviously customers and public to deal with. Achieving success in my job role and having a first class team working alongside me.

What has been your best Goodwood experience so far?
My whole time here has its big ups and very few downs, but more recently a weekend of positive results and also meeting my partner Sandra on a busman's holiday at Brands Hatch.

What social activities do you take part in at Goodwood?
Mainly working, but enjoy the surroundings in the early morning and evening when I walk my Springer Spaniel - Poppy. I used to be Father Christmas and participate in the biyearly staff party.

Tell us something most people don’t know about you?
I served as an Officer of the Day on the oldest commissioned warship in the Royal Navy, the HMS Victory, on which my son was christened; 32 years ago.

What makes you laugh?
Mrs Brown's Boys and a few other things, because I still retain my matelots humour, which is different and can sometimes misunderstood.

Gareth Chapman (Assistant Food & Beverage Operations Manager )

What attracted you to Goodwood?
Having lived on the south coast most of my life I'd heard great things about Goodwood, this lead me to look for opportunities to be a part of it.

When did you join us?
June 2012.

What do you love most about working at Goodwood?
No day is the same as the last.
