Bentley Motors Limited was founded in 1919 by W.O. Bentley following the end of the First World War. Obsessed with motion and engineering from an early age, whether bicycles, steam engines or aeroplanes, Walter Owen Bentley would earn his M.B.E for his contribution to the war effort, creating lightweight, powerful, reliable rotary aero engines for the Sopwith Camel using aluminium pistons.

From this vital role, Bentley Motors was born with its sights set on making “a fast car, a good car, the best in its class.” The idea was simple, and the Crewe-based marque would go on to achieve this formative ambition time and again. Producing cars capable of winning motorsport competition and to be enjoyed touring on public roads.

With the ‘Bentley Boys’, the Bentley ‘Blowers’, and its early Le Mans domination that saw Bentley cars win four in a row from 1927 to 1930 with the likes of the Bentley Speed Six, a dream was fulfilled.

Today, with several changes of ownership behind them, Bentley Motors remains inspired by some of its most loved classic cars including the Bentley Birkin Blower, Bentley 8 Litre, Bentley Mark VI and Bentley Turbo-R. All as desirable as they are drivable.
