Maeva Imber joins Goodwood
Having graduated with a Hotel Management Diploma in Paris, Maeva was keen to get out and explore the world of Hospitality.
Although Paris provided her with many an opportunity, she felt a draw to explore a little further afield and so took on a six month placement working for a private yacht club in New York, giving her a perfect setting to get stuck into an operational role. After this was over she travelled back to France, however the passion for the role in New York didn’t fade and when they offered her the opportunity to return for another six months, she went back as a Restaurant Supervisor.
Events & Butler Service
Maeva then decided it was time for something new and moved to London. Still working for the Private Yacht Club in Greenwich, she helped organise an array of events, including large charity functions, before deciding to gain further experience within the luxury hotel industry. She took herself to the South of France for the summer and became a private butler for a high profile client for three months.
Blakes
Deciding that London was the place she wanted to focus her attention, after completing her summer season Maeva travelled back to London and applied to Blakes Hotel in Chelsea become a Restaurant Supervisor. This is a role she flourished in and she was soon noticed by a couple who had a restaurant down in Cornwall. After many discussions, she moved down to Cornwall for six months, becoming the Restaurant Manager of a fine dining 120 cover restaurant. However, this placement flew by and soon she found herself travelling back to Blakes to pursue her dream role there. She re-joined the team as part of Reception and quickly progressed, taking on more and more responsibility. She was promoted to Duty Manager within months and went on to become Reception Manager.
Goodwood
Maeva remained at Blakes until she stumbled upon the Guest Relations Manager role here at Goodwood. Wanting to challenge herself further, and realising what a unique brand Goodwood was, she went ahead and applied and, after travelling down to investigate Goodwood further, decided that this was where she wanted to progress her career.
Maeva joined the team in January 2016 and has brought with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. She has launched many different training tools in her short time with Goodwood and loves the team spirit down at The Goodwood Hotel.
