Keep on track during BBQ season
- Bring nutritious food to the party – If everyone is set to bring a dish to the BBQ, then you have the perfect opportunity to bring something that is filled with goodness! Opt for a light salad, or maybe even some salmon that can be cooked on the BBQ.
- Pay attention to portions – With the buffet nature of a BBQ, it is very easy to pile up your plate unnecessarily. Try to manage the amount of food that you're putting on your plate and you won't feel as overindulged by the time you've reached the bottom of your plate!'
- Fill up on salads – Green salads, rice salads, tomato salads. There is always many salad varieties to choose from at a BBQ, so why not make this the largest proportion of your plate? You can receive many different nutritious benefits from mixing a variety of salads.
- Don't overload the carbs – Whilst burgers and hotdogs are wonderfully delicious in a freshly baked roll or bun, but have you ever thought of leaving the bread behind? A meal of meats and salads can, in fact, keep you fuller for longer.
- Walk it off – As the summer sun begins to set for the evening and the temperature starts to drop, there is no better time to go for a light stroll. Walking for just 30 minutes can ease digestion and help you burn off a few of those calories from lunchtime!
