Goodwood Invitational Pro-Am
64 golfers took to The Downs course on Friday 23 August to celebrate the Invitational Pro-Am, and what a beautiful day it was. With the sun shining everybody was in great spirits for the day ahead.
With our competitors getting into their teams, they enjoyed a champagne breakfast before Golf At Goodwood General Manager, Stuart Gillett, welcomed everyone and gave the important rules of the day. Then, the teams headed off to their starting hole for the shotgun start at 10am to get proceedings started.
In each team were four people, three amateurs and one professional, and they played 18 holes of The Downs course, with some challenges along the way, including the Flop Shot Challenge and Ken's Gazebo Gong Challenge. All of these competitions meant points for their teams, so all gave it their best shot to collect valuable points.
After the 18-holes were over, it was back to The Kennels for a well-deserved drink before the winners were announced. First, to our pro-competition, with Paul Fiddes in second place with 39 points, it only left one winner and that was our very own Ambassador, Toby Tree, who was runner up in last year's competition.
Then, down to the team competition, Tim Pearson's team came third with 94, with Nyewood Dental coming second also with 94 points, but the winners of the day with 95 points were De Boer, which included winning Pro Tree, along with John Cochrane, Damian Norman and Murray Ellis.
It was then time to head up the Racecourse and finish the day in style with the August Bank Holiday racing and the fireworks before returning to The Kennels for a Spice Girls tribute act. The perfect way to start the Bank Holiday weekend!
Congratulations to our winners and everyone who took part, we are already looking forward to next year!

It may seem less of a challenge, but its tricky switchbacks and devilish bunkers are enough to keep any golfer on their toes.
