Today is one of those days’ the late Roy Salvadori had in mind when he said: ‘Give me Goodwood on a Summer’s Day and you can forget the rest of the world.’
Strolling through the paddocks and along the circuit when there’s a good crowd, a superb seletion of motor cars, the odd light aircraft taking of from the airfield, warm sun and the birds singing away, it’s hard to imagine a better place for car-people to be.
With all the cars in the circuit it takes a good hour or two to cover the lot – and there are so many highlights: On the grid there’s not one but two Lamborghini Silhouettes, A Fiat X1/9 ‘Grand Finale’, a Ferrari 365 Daytona, a ’59 Corvette, Mini Moke, a 1963 AC Cobra, a Fiat 695 Essesse, A Porsche 911 Speedster, Series One Land Rover…
In fact such is the diversity that we’re going to have to put together not one, but TWO mega-galleries!
