Not all Group B cars were hot hatches, but it's fair to say that pocket-rockets made up the majority of the field by the end of the era, and two of the most iconic of all were the Lancia Delta S4 and the Metro 6R4.

How do you make an already hot hatch even hotter? By removing those pointless rear seats, replacing them with the engine you've stripped from it's cacoon at the front of the car, making it four-wheel-drive, and in some cases both turbo- and supercharging it.
The result is these two beautiful monsters, which came to the final Breakfast Club of the year as special guests, and drew the attention of everyone around. Which would you like to rag through the forest rally stage?
