Toyota has sent a snapper into Motorsport HQ in Germany to tease us with this gallery of its rally cars heading to FoS.
The Eighties and Nineties were a fiercely competitive time in rallying, and Toyota’s WRC team often found itself there-or-thereabouts when the big prizes were being dished out.
On the FoS Special Stage this year you’ll be able to see the fearsome Group B Celica TA64, a few versions of the Celica GT4 including the car with which celebrated Spaniard Carlos Sainz secured the 1990 driver’s title, a Corolla WRC (Toyota’s final ‘works’ car). Sadly, the rarely-seen MR2-based Group S concept car which looked wonderful but sadly never turned a wheel in anger, won’t be appearing at FoS – but we couldn’t resist sharing a picture anyway.
Otherwise most – if not all – of the fine machines pictured above will be running on the Goodwood rally stage. So don’t forget to bring your bobble hat to FoS!
Tickets for the Festival of Speed, and all the other Goodwood events, are available here.
