Remember when Cosworth was king? The combination of a blue oval and a big wing was enough to make upmarket performance cars quake. Twenty years ago, Malcolm Wilson won the British Rally Championship in the Michelin Pilot liveried Escort RS Cosworth. At the Festival of Speed it will make a rare public appearance, going on static display on the Michelin stand.

The car is owned today by George Gauld, who completed its rebuild in 2002. Since then, it has made few public appearances – and most of them have been close to George’s home in Aberdeen. But, given that it’s 20 years since the car’s championship win, 2014 is as good a time as any to show it to a large audience.
