Bonhams FoS catalogue released. We raid our piggy banks ...

Last year, when Bonhams took their gavel out to conduct the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed sale, a world record was set for the highest price paid for a car at auction; £19.6million for the ex-Fangio Mercedes Benz W196.

Not surprisingly perhaps, they’re unlikely to repeat that feat this year, but the car-collecting world will be watching very closely at several of the lots: We’ve already covered the ex-Graham Hill Lotus 49b and the Aston Martin Ulster, both of which could set new records for cars of their type. Vying with them for top billing will undoubtedly be the ex-Frolian GonzalezFerrari 375-Plus, not least because it is a genuine ex-Scuderia car which always attracts fierce bidding.

Other highlights are likely to be the alloy-bodied Ferrari 275 GTB estimated to make as much as £2.5million, an Aston Martin DB4 Convertible (upper estimate £1.1million), a Ferrari 275GTS (£1.4million), and an Lamborghini Countach ‘perescopica’ which is similar to this one they sold for a world record £732,000 recently in the States.

The catalogue makes for an enchanting browse, and can be seen in full here. Personally, I’d be more than content with this Series One Iso Grifo. What would you most like to drive home after FoS?
