Could Noble be in the market to usurp its supercar rivals by claiming the fastest time up the hill in this year’s timed Michelin Supercar run?
Having bucked the trend of small-volume British manufacturers who aim high and then crash spectacularly by establishing themselves as builders of top-notch drivers’ cars, Noble will be lining up at the Festival of Speed with the intention of out-performing the likes of the Koenigsegg Agera R, Ferrari 458 Speciale, Lamborghini Huracan, and McLaren 650S.
You’ll have noticed that the small sample of supercars listed there are all more recent offerings than the Noble M600. However there’s a chance they’ll succeed, because at the helm will be former Goodwood Hillclimb champion and Goodwood Road & Racing hillclimb road tester Anthony Reid, who isn’t exactly shy when it comes to competiton and, arguably, knows his way up the hill as well as anyone else with a racing licence.
Make no mistake; the fact that there’s also a McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 lining up for the timed runs will not bother Mr Reid one bit. This is going to be spectacular!
