McLaren GT will whisk the covers off a new car it’s calling ‘the latest generation competitive track-focused racer’ at FoS, and we’ll be there to make sure you can see pictures ‘live’ as it happens here on Goodwood Road & Racing.
Meanwhile the company has issued this single teaser image which gives some clue as to the new model’s identity – and while there’s an information embargo until launch at 11am on Friday 27th, we’re guessing there’ll be plenty of speculation to fill the gap!
Other McLaren highlights at FoS will include the P1 and 650S which feature in the Michelin Supercar Paddock, and of course FoS favourite – and 2009 F1 World Champion – Jensen Button will be turning up to drive one of the new cars on the hill. We’ll also get a chance to admire the fantastic M7C, driven by a man who truly embodied the FoS 2014 theme ‘addicted to winning’, Bruce McLaren, to three podium finishes during the 1969 F1 season.
McLaren has a new location this year at FoS – the ‘McLaren House’ will be adjacent to the TAG Heuer Drivers’ Club, and Jensen will be making appearances there as well as in the driving seat of one of the road cars. (Check out the artist’s impression in the gallery above.)
Talking of driving seats, for a £2 donation to Chestnut Tree House, McLaren will let you have your picture taken in the 204mph 650S Spider on their stand. If you’re not sure just how exciting the 650S Spider is, check out this fantastic video of the car in high-speed action on Lord March’s front drive before the FoS build-up began…
