‘Addicted to Winning’ is the message on the jacket; the wearer? None other than French rally icon Sebastien Loeb.
He won the Belstaff jacket – made in partnership with Goodwood – by topping the rankings for the 2014 Timed Hill Climb event, which took place on the Sunday (June 29). Loeb managed 44.6 seconds in his Peugot 208 T16 Pikes Peak.
It wasn’t enough to knock Nick Heidfeld’s 1999 time off the all-time leaderboard (41.6 seconds) but he did beat everyone at the 2014 edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The leather jacket itself is valued at over £10,000 as only two were made, with British artist Nicolai Sclater hand-painting each. The other one will be handed out at Goodwood Revival in September.
Loeb has nine World Rally Championships to his name, so an addiction to winning is clearly in his blood – now it’s draped around his shoulders too.
