Formula One cars aren’t timed up the hill for the Festival of Speed, which is a big part of the reason why Nick Heidfeld’s 41.6sec run has remained a record since 1999, when F1 cars were timed. However, looking back the footage of Sebastien Buemi’s run this year in a Red Bull RB7, we wonder whether he sneaked under the 45sec mark. This raises three key questions…
Could it even have been quicker than Sebastien Loeb’s 2014 winning 44.6sec run in the Pikes Peak Peugeot?
Just how much quicker could he go than Heidfeld’s McLaren, given that it looked nowehere near as ragged and on the edge?
And is it important to be called Sebastien to set a quick time?
Watch the video and speculate for yourself.
