BMW will bring the very best of classic racers and up-to-date tech to this year’s Festival of Speed as the incredible McLaren F1 GTR Longtail takes to the hill alongside the state-of-the-art i8 supercar.
The awesome F1 GTR longtail, which starred at the 73rd Members’ Meeting, will power up the hillclimb in the hands of touring car and Le Mans legend Steve Soper while the amazing, hybrid powered, i8 will take to the hill in the Michelin Supercar Parade in the hands of Top Gear and Fifth Gear presenter Tiff Needel.
Also heading for the famous hillclimb will be Venezualen former F1 driver Johnn Cecotto in a BMW F2 March 782, which we last saw at the Donington Historic, and BMW’s latest Le Mans racer the BMW M3 GT2, which raced both in France and in the American Le Mans Series.
Tiff will also be in the BMW pavilion for interviews and autographs. Joined by legendary Formula 1 commentator, Murray Walker, and by presenter for BT Vision’s Premier League football coverage, Jake Humphreys. On stand too will be Superbike World Champion, Maria Costello and Sebastian Gutsch, when they’re not riding the BMW S1000RR and R50 Kaczor up Goodwood’s hill.
Once again this year, BMW and MINI owners will be able to access the exclusive BMW Owners’ Lounge, on the first floor of the Pavilion, by presenting their keys at the entrance.
Meanwhile at the Moving Motor Show visitors will have the chance to book test drives up the Goodwood 1.16-mile hillclimb course in two of BMW’s most recent range additions – the revised M135i and the M235i.
