Porsche is bringing an armada of powerful hybrids to the Festival of Speed this month. The Panamera S E-Hybrid and Cayenne S E-Hybrid will be going up the hill at the Moving Motor Show, providing spontaneous and pre-booked passenger rides. Together with the awesome 918 Spyder this makes Porsche the only premium marque with three plug-in hybrid cars in its range.
At the extreme end of the eco scale, the 919 Hybrid LMP1 World Endurance Championship racer will be on display, a sign of Porsche commitment to hybrid powertrain technology at the highest level, just days after competing at the Le Mans 24 Hours. Also on display will be the brand’s bonkers but beautiful 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid supercar, all 918 examples of which are sold. The 918 Spyder is not only the fastest production car round the Nurburgring, but created a different sort of record when it went up the Goodwood hillclimb in all-electric mode last year.
The 918 Spyder joins the latest trackday monster 911 GT3 RS and Cayman GT4 for the Michelin Supercar Run, while the Boxster Spyder will make its UK debut alongside the 911 Targa GTS and Cayenne Turbo S in the First Glance section.
Naturally, there will be the usual exotic mix of four-wheeled racing heritage from the Porsche Museum to complete the impressive line-up.
