The Festival of Speed’s official timing partner TAG Heuer will mark five years at Goodwood with an amazing collection of F1 and Le Mans cars.
The TAG Heuer stand, which forms part of the TAG Heuer Driver’s Club, will include an exhibition of ultra high-performance two and four-wheeled machinery featuring Ayrton Senna’s McLaren MP4/4 and Nissan’s unique GTR-LM Nismo racer.
The MP4/4 remains the most successful F1 car ever built, having carried Senna and team-mate Prost to victory in all but one race during the 1988 season, with the Brazillian claiming eight victories on the way to his debut World Championship victory.
The technological advances of state-of-the-art F1 will also be on show in the form of the Mp4-26, which was piloted by Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton during the 2011 championship.
TAG Heuer’s backing of Nissan GTR Nismo racing, announced earlier this year, will be represented by the GTR-LM Nismo LMP1 racer. The astonishing, front-wheel-drive, racer will appear on the stand fresh from competing at Le Mans.
Representing the two-wheeled world will be a record-breaking motorcycle – powered by a helicopter gas-turbine engine. The ‘MadMax’ bike, capable of 225mph, belongs to TAG Heuer collector Jef Eisenberg.
Visitors to the TAG Heuer stand will also be able to test their potential as racing drivers with a range of interactive motor racing games, as well as two Gran Turismo simulators featuring the Goodwood Hillclimb. The three people who record the highest scores over the weekend will receive a range of TAG Heuer accessories.
