As my interest lies predominantly in offroad racing and rallying, I spent most my time at the rally area and activity field. I am heavily involved in promoting the MSA British Cross Country Championship, so it was great to see some cars from that series appearing alongside the likes of Robby Gordon and BJ Baldwin in the activity field.
The rally paddock is a paradise for any fan of rallying, with everything from 1960s Minis through to the latest spec WRC machines represented. The Computervision-liveried MG Metro 6R4 is still my favourite though, as nothing beats the sound of a 6R4 in the woods.
The festival for me was summed up in the matter of a few minutes on the Saturday. From one spot I saw Sir Stirling Moss and Jenson Button on the hill, Kris Meeke on the rally stage, the BCCC drivers in the activity field and the Red Arrows in the sky. Where else in the world could I have seen all that?
I hope you enjoy my selection of images.
