The world's best-selling two-seater roadster hit the milestone on April 22, 27 years after the first MX-5 was manufactured. The model still holds the Guinness World Record title for the best selling two-seater sports car of all time.
The millionth MX-5 will be joined at the Festival of Seed by the Speedster and Spyder concept variants, which will be their first appearance outside America, where they appeared at the SEMA Tuning Show in Las Vegas last year.
The Speedster is a stripped-down MX-5, with a wind deflector instead of a windscreen and carbon-fibre doors and seats, resulting in a weight of 943kg. It also has a lowered suspension, and will be taking to the hill in the First Glance run at the Festival of Speed.

The Spyder, meanwhile, features a bikini top roof and bespoke paintwork.
If you've forgotten what it's like to drive such a simple, yet perfectly designed roadster, Mazda will be taking people up the hillclimb in the MX-5 at the Moving Motor Show on the Thursday.
"The MX-5 sits at the heart of Mazda's brand and it embodies all that is great about our cars. Its fun-to-drive character has strengthened the bond between Mazda and its customers for more than a quarter of a century. The production of the one-millionth MX-5 is a landmark and it's great that we can celebrate this with the MX-5 owners and fans at the Goodwood Festival of Speed."
