The blue skies with clouds and silver linings touching the bails of hay along the track edge, the sound of car engines with streaks of colour whizzing past. Most of all it was about the people who came, whether they were drivers, mechanics or guests, everyone had big smiles on their faces, waving and clapping as someone they like goes by.
So many moments over the weekend but Sunday was the day I enjoyed the most, starting off with Chase Carey, the new boss of F1 getting out of the Fiat S76 and pushing it to the start line. Respect built right there!
Later in the day, I was fortunate to be on the balcony for Bernie Ecclestone's moment with Lord March, Ron Dennis, Damon Hill, Jean Todt, Jackie Stewart, Mark Webber. I watched Nico Rosberg gatecrash it by driving his F1 Mercedes up to the front of the house, climb on the car and totally capture the crowd's attention. They loved the maverick moment of the current world champion!
To end the day, I went to go and watch and photograph the Motorbikes in the assembly area and head down to the start line with them for the final batch of FOS, and the light was just perfect with engines running, plumes of smoke rising into the air creating beams of light. I managed to catch up with Stewart Graham and Jochen Mass and captured some of my favourite images of the weekend.
Can't believe it's over already!
