Wondering what I would be shooting exactly, on the Eve of FOS, it came as a surprise and slight apprehension that my first task on day 1 was to be at the start line at 8:00am to shoot Lord March in the new Ford GT opening FOS 2017 – nothing like being thrown in at the deep end! I took this in my stride however and cracked on! I managed to get the shots I was initially after, a few of Lord March and one in particular of the Ford GT shot from behind heading down to turn one.
I met some interesting people with some great stories to tell us about their cars, I even shot the new London Taxi cab! (the sunroof in them looks great – ideal for sightseeing!) During the next few days, I shot people from the Dunlop family, Sammy Miller and Anthony Reid.
Sunday was the highlight of the weekend for me personally. Told we had a meeting with Renault Sport, off we went in the direction of the Renault Sport F1 garage and a few minutes later I was informed we would, in fact, be interviewing Robert Kubica later in the day! Awesome, he’s one of my favourite F1 drivers! Over the next few hours, I snapped some shots of the Renault Sport F1 car and Robert preparing for his run in the collection area. At the end of his run, I waited by the motorhome ready to shoot the interview inside the truck, aiming to grab a few candid shots of him, no easy task! The atmosphere around the Renault Sport garage was crazy, full of Polish fans chanting with banners and all, a sight I have never seen at FOS before!
Overall FOS 2017 was once again a fantastic event staged by Lord March and all the team at Goodwood. Roll on September for the Revival!
