The 2021 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard is less than two weeks away and announcements on what spectators can expect to see are free-flowing. The latest that we can announce is that four decades of motorsport at Prodrive will be celebrated on and off the Hill.

Yes, everything from the 1981 WRC-winning MkII Ford Escort, through the golden age of Prodrive-prepared rally Imprezas, to the Vantage GTE and the latest Hunter H1 Dakar monster. Drivers for these incredible cars will include Sébastien Loeb, Ari Vatanen, Jimmy McRae and Marco Sorensen.
Prodrive chairman David Richards said: “The Festival of Speed is one of the motorsport events of the year that I really look forward to. The paddock has a unique atmosphere where fans can get close to their heroes and have the opportunity to see so much motorsport history race up the Hill. We’ll be joining the action with a number of our cars that represent Prodrive’s successes over the four decades.”

Richards has recently had the MkII Escort fully restored and it will run in anger for the first time at the Festival. “The last time Ari saw this car was 40 years ago on the San Remo Rally, where we hit a wall,” Richards said. “I hope he doesn’t drive it quite as hard as he did back in 1981.”
