Veteran all-rounder Anthony Reid brought the curtain down on the 2013 Goodwood Revival with victory in the Sussex Trophy finale. Pole-sitter Julian Mahzub peeled off into the pits after the warm up lap, Reid building a four second lead within two laps aboard his Jaguar D-type. Man on the move, however, was Rob Hall, who steered his Maserati 300S on its bumpstops as he deposed Emanuele Pirro’s Lister-Jaguar on the third tour before taking Reid on the pit straight a lap later. But Reid wasn’t finished, the gap between the leading pair being just 0.1sec with five minutes left to run. The Scot reclaimed the lead into Woodcote with eight laps gone, while Hall survived a paint-swopping scare with Ron Gammons’ Devin in the dying seconds to follow Reid home.
