1950 BRM V16 to be refurbished thanks to charity appeal

The 2014 Goodwood Revival will help support the refurbishment of a Goodwood favourite – a 1950 BRM V16 that was last driven here at this year’s Festival of Speed.

In partnership with The Richard Burns Foundation, the Goodwood Revival will donate money collected to the National Motor Museum Trust’s BRM Preservation Appeal, which has been set up specifically to breathe new life into this car.

The car has had various notable drivers take the wheel, including Juan Manuel Fangio and Reg Parnell, but more than that it is a truly historically significant vehicle, showing power and pace in its heyday.

Engineers are not yet completely certain what they will find in terms of problems under the hood, particularly once the engine is removed and dismantled for inspection. The brakes, suspension and pistons will also be tested, among other vital checks.

Donate online here, or look out for our official charity volunteers who will be collecting over the course of the Revival weekend.
