Cars that rock Revival: Ferrari 250 GT SWB

Aside from some hillclimbing by its first owner in the USA, this Ferrari 250 SWB has no in-period competition history, having originally been supplied in road trim. It was when Rohan Fernando bought the car three years ago, that his friend – none other than Jackie Oliver – persuaded him to take it racing. Since then, it has been raced in the Pre-63 GT series for the last two years. It has just missed out on the championship both times, winning every race that it has finished.

It’s Jackie Oliver and Christian Horner who are driving it at Revival this year, looking to improve upon their ninth position in last year’s RAC TT Celebration race placing. A braking problem in yesterday’s qualifying session caused some issues which the team are hoping are resolved before the race this afternoon.

While Rohan himself doesn’t race the car, he does take it home outside of the racing season to use it on the road. Taking a full race spec 250 GT SWB to the pub on a Sunday afternoon sounds like the perfect way to use a car…
