It's a pinch yourself moment as all the Shelby Daytona Coupes are together at last

A large chunk of American motor racing legend landed at Goodwood today. Actually six chunks: all six Shelby Daytona Coupes ever made are now here at Revival. Together. For the first time. Ever. In lil’ ol’ West Sussex.

Revival 2015

Arrival of the six flashes of blue-with-white-stripes proved a pinch-yourself moment as they made their way to their paddock, a re-creation of the Sebring pits circa 1965 for a powerful evocation of period motor racing, US style.

The cars have arrived from all around the world: one from Japan, one from Argentina, one from Germany and three from North America. Incredibly in the 50 years since their inception they have never all been together before – and may never be again.

The sexy six have a full weekend ahead of them at Revival. High speed demo laps are scheduled for every day – 11.25 Saturday, 16.00 Saturday, and 17.00 Sunday (subject to change). And while the cars won’t be doing the near 200mph speeds they achieved in period on the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans, the drivers promise they won’t be hanging around…

And one of them will be really going for it. That’s the car to be driven by Nic Minassian, no stranger to the Le Mans podium, in the RAC TT Celebration. Nic and this roaring American will be up against formidable competition though. Such as Ferrari 250 GTOs, Lightweight E-types, Aston Martins and of course the AC Cobra without which there never would have been a Daytona Coupe.

We predict that with its grunt-filled V8, Carroll Shelby’s famous magic touch and its sexy-as-hell Pete Brock-designed body, this iconic American racer will prove more than a match for European sports car aristocracy in every way.

Enjoy the pictures – they record a unique event.
