The Great British paying public and our international friends and colleagues have had to wait two-years to witness what has been dubbed ‘the most beautiful race in the world’. Formerly known as the Kinrara Trophy, this very special race was permanently renamed the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy from 2020 at Goodwood SpeedWeek presented by Mastercard to help us all remember the frankly unforgettable Sir Stirling Moss. A very special man to everyone associated with Goodwood – he was fondly known as 'Mr Goodwood’ after all – he was, and now always will be linked to the Goodwood Revival and the Motor Circuit's long history.

Coming out of the blocks at a pace following the Revival’s fallow period, the very first session this year’s event was the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy practice. A mere 20-minute blast around the viciously fast Circuit for man and machine to try and get comfortable and rediscover the limits of mechanical grip before the race gets underway at 18:20 this evening.
There was, and will be plenty of eye-candy on show once again this year from Ferrari 250 SWBs, Jaguar E-types, Aston Martin DB4GTs, AC Cobras, Porsches and a Lotus Elite. But don’t expect a beauty pageant parade. These will all be driven in anger, just as we like. Wet your whistle before this evening’s main event and enjoy our photographer’s opening salvos shooting the world’s prettiest historic racing stunners.
