It won’t be long now before winter is behind us, the days are lighter for longer, most post-Christmas diets have been completed (or dropped? Ed) and the 74th Members’ Meeting will be upon us. The magic is happening this year on March 19-20, and we reckon that this could very well be the most eclectic and spectacular collection of racing machinery ever assembled at the Goodwood Motor Circuit.
Tickets are already available to GRRC members and those on the waiting list, and a limited number is now being made available to other motorsport enthusiasts. Bearing in mind the limited quantity and the sensational, unprecedented line-up of cars, bikes, drivers and riders, we’d urge you to secure your place as soon as possible.
Before we get started with the racing action, there will be high speed demonstrations of ground-effect Formula 1 cars, five-litre Group 5 sportscars, and 1990s Super Tourers. Then you’ll be treated to a grid full of gorgeous Ford GT40s in the Alan Mann Trophy, roaring V8 Can-Am cars in the Bruce McLaren Trophy, glamorous grand tourers in the Graham Hill Trophy, the ever-popular Group 1 touring cars in the Gerry Marshall Trophy, fire-spitting Edwardian monsters in the S.F. Edge Trophy, and, for the first time at a Members’ Meeting, screaming two-stroke Grand Prix motorcycles in the Hailwood Trophy, plus so much more besides. Remember the action from last year’s Derek Bell Cup…? (see below).
As ever there will be a host of famous pilots, not to mention the four House Captains – Jochen Mass, Nicolas Minassian, Emanuele Pirro and Anthony Reid – and their associated points-scoring shenanigans with which you can all join in… or of course you can take the less-strenuous option and immerse yourself fully in what will be one of the finest meetings ever to take place at Goodwood Motor Circuit. We’re already wondering how we’re going to top this one next year…
