Don’t worry, Goodwood hasn’t gone to the dogs. Quite the opposite! The dogs have come to Goodwood! Once again Members’ Meeting opens with the hunt taking to the circuit for a lap and a celebration of an institution of the Estate.
The Goodwood estate has hosted the Dukes of Richmond and Lennox for more than 300 years. The 1st Duke of Richmond bought Goodwood originally as a hunting lodge, though subsequent generations expanded the existing building into the splendid house that backdrops the central feature for the Festival Of Speed every year.
These equestrian antics are the first taste of horsepower the eager crowd are getting, albeit hoofed rather than wheeled, and the items to follow will be sporting a great deal more for sure…
