The Don Parker Trophy was a fun race for 500cc Formula 3 cars of the type that Sir Stirling Moss, Bernie Ecclestone and many more got their starts and early career jumps in. For some in the race at the Members’ Meeting, just getting the start was an achievement, given how easy it was to overheat these air-cooled bike-engined machines on the grid while waiting for the off.
