On a packed Saturday at the 79th Goodwood Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport, it’s quite difficult to pick a favourite moment. It’s not often you get the opportunity to enjoy V10 era F1 cars and Group C Porsches on the same day.
Watching such an astounding collection of Porsche 956s and 962s relive those iconic years of Le Mans racing in the 1980s is a moment that will live long in the memory. As the sun set, it was the perfect way to end the day.
It feels like a long time ago since we saw the reveal of the Gordon Murray Automotive T.33, a moment that preceded plenty of on-track action from the ever-dramatic Gerry Marshall Trophy and the brutal Graham Hill Trophy.
The first ever tandem drift at the Motor Circuit lived up to its billing, too, as we were treated to a commendable display of skill as Goodwood was shrouded in tyre smoke.
As the day comes to a close, it’s safe to say we have seen some truly memorable moments on the Motor Circuit today, and we’re kind of sad it’s over. The good thing is, we’ll be able to do it all again tomorrow, when all of these fantastic cars return for a full day of racing action.
