The Robert Brooks Trophy sportscar race saw lightweight 1960s machines flat-out battling around Goodwood at the 79th Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport. It was glory to Andrew Kirkaldy in the Lotus Eleven, who fought his way up from 15th on the grid to take the win in a spectacular drive.

Kirkaldy engaged in a number of battles to earn that win, dicing with Andrea Stortoni, who also got a great start in another Lotus Eleven. More protracted a confrontation for Kirkaldy was his dice with James Bellinger in his bare metal Lola-Climax, though persistence paid off for the baby blue Lotus.
