Oh lord above, we do not deserve such things. We’d already had two fantastic heats for the Gordon Spice Trophy, each offering plenty of action, noise, drama and emotion. We’d seen Jake Hill damage his car in Practice, only for the team to get it fixed in time for a terrific race just a few hours later. We’d seen Nick Swift in his Mini 1275 GT go neck and neck with Jim Morris’ Golf GTI for the entirety of heat two, with Swift taking victory after a mistake from Morris coming out of the final corner. But still, as if by some holy intervention, we still had the final to look forward to on Sunday at the 80th Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport.
