The first thing you need to do here, is skip to around the nine-minute mark of this video. Stick on some headphones, whack the volume up as high as you can stand and press play. Because that's when Scott Beath finally lets the Matra V12 in his Shadow DN7 fly down the main straight at the Goodwood Motor Circuit.
Video: Hear the scream of the gods from this Matra V12
The stunning Shadow (if you've never seen one, here's why we're so in love) had spent a fair amount of its life in the sadly now lost Donington Grand Prix Collection, before Beath and his team bought it and restored it to running order. Then at the 73rd Goodwood Members' Meeting back in 2015 it took part in a brilliant demonstration for high-airbox F1 cars.
Scott went out with a camera attached to his helmet, and included some behind the scenes footage of the preperations before the car headed out at the start of this clip. But we advise jumping to the moment he feels ready to let her rip, to hear why the Shadow DN7 is a Formula 1 car that no one who has seen it or heard it will ever be able to forget.
