While acquainting myself with the epic Rover SD1 I’ll be racing at Members’ Meeting next year, I also managed five minutes of seat time in the new Lister Knobbly 60th Anniversary Edition.
Running some silencing, its 103dB static reading was a little too noisy for the day, so we took the decision to shoot all the static and detail shots for a forthcoming video. But I did squeeze in a brief run up the main straight to Madgwick to mark the car’s official circuit debut!
Nine of these machines have now been sold, and the car we had at the circuit on Friday was chassis number one. Perfectly proportioned with its deep, inky black wheel arches protruding from that aluminium body, most of us just stood around it and gasped.
Lister is asking £350,000 for each car. Given the value of most classic racers at the moment, it has to be the bargain of 2014.
Enjoy the images, full driving impressions and video coming soon…
