It’s less than a week until cars will be waved off from Brescia for 2014’s Mille Miglia (15-18 May), and amongst the headline cars will be two of the most significant Blower Bentleys. The 1930 Le Mans ‘team car’, once owned by Sir Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin, will be charging through the Italian countryside in tandem with an open-bodied four-seater former company demonstrator.
It’s a spectacle we can’t wait to see; having already caught up with Jaguar drivers David Gandy and Jodie Kidd during testing at the circuit a few weeks ago, we’ll be chasing the Mille Miglia in a Jaguar F-type to bring coverage from the event.
We’re not the only ones gatecrashing the event in modern metal. The Bentley Drivers’ Club will gather at the rally’s start point to give the Blower Bentleys a decent send-off. Owners from as far afield as Australia, the States and the UK are all poised to descend on Brescia – and some of them will be brining some very rare and historic cars.
Less than a week? Feels like an eternity to wait…
