This is one of our personal favourites from the 72nd Members’ Meeting.
After an epic battle with the Porsche 962s in 1988, the number two Jaguar XJR-9LM (sister to this car) prevailed at Le Mans in the hands of Andy Wallace, Jan Lammers, and John Colum Crighton-Stuart, 7th Marquess of Bute and Earl of Dumfries.
The 7-litre V12 the car ran was based on the road-going lump from the XJ-S, and is reportedly as tough as old boots as well as being very powerful. Oh and it sounds wonderful, too!
