Goodwood is still reverberating from Revival as we look to this weekend’s epic Spa 6 Hours. The yearly historic racing bash in the Ardennes is threatening to be an absolute corker, so here’s a quick preview gallery (above) to whet the appetite.
The main event is of course the six-hour long race for pre-1965 touring cars and sports cars, which as ever features a hugely varied grid. How varied? Expect to see Ford GT40s rumbling past Mini Coopers, Porsche 904s, MGB Roadsters, Mustangs, Alfa Romeo Giulias, Ferrari 250 SWBs, and more tearing around the legendary stretch of Belgian blacktop often referred to by Formula One drivers as their favourite circuit.
If it rains look out for Kenny Brack in the no.5 GT40, which is always an entertaining combination as 2013 Revival visitors will attest to! Also, look out for Revival TT winner David Hart in his rapid AC Cobra, and noted historic racers Chris Ward and John Young in the Costin Lister which triumphed in last year’s combined Stirling Moss and Woodcote Trophy race. St Mary’s Trophy fans will particularly be looking forward to the pre-70’s touring car event, and fans of big-horsepower cars will enjoy the F1 Masters Historic Formula One Championship and the likes of the McLaren M8C in the CanAm Interserie Challenge race.
Why not climb on board for a few laps of Spa Francorchamps in the JD Classics’ Lister Costin to get a flavour of what’s in store..?
