Man oh man, this thing is cool. It’s a 1991 Chevrolet Corvette Intrepid RM-1 GTP car. It’s packing 7.1 litres of strung-up American muscle in a purposeful closed-cockpit body, and in the video below, it’s going for broke at Road Atlanta while we come along for the ride.

Just remember to breathe. We found our breath slightly baited by the aggression of this on board! This thing is going absolutely flat-out over the crests and through the drops at Road Atlanta in the hands of Patrick Bean who is throwing it around with full commitment, wringing that monstrous V8 for all it’s worth (which is a lot, surprise surprise). Has a cooler top-level prototype come since?
