We've spoken to you a lot over the last few weeks about just how incredible Audi's white elephant RS 002 project is. But now it's time to see what the people who work with this late-'80s monster think of it.
Video: What is so special about the one‑off Audi RS 002?
As you know the RS 002 was designed and built to replace the iconic Quattro when Group B regulations were replaced with potentially even more insane Group S. Unfortunately the RS 002 (along with equally astonishing projects from Lancia and others) would never see a WRC stage, after the demise of Group B was demanded and the upcoming replacement followed it out of the history books.
Now the RS 002 lives with Audi Tradition, and it wasn't until last year that Ingolstadt finally decided it was time to let the old beast back out in public again – firing it up and letting it loose on the stages of the Eifel Rallye Festival. Its second appearance after that momentous return was at the Festival of Speed last month, where we caught up with the team that look after this wondeful beast and found out a bit more about it.
