A loose wheel can spell disaster for even the most talented of drivers. Add in a 54-year-old Alfa Romeo TZ and the Circuit Dijon-Prenois and you’ve got a potentially very dangerous situation.

Incredibly, driver Philippe Gaso managed to keep his car under control when it lost a wheel during the Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or practice session back in June.
As he turned into an uphill right-hander, his rear axle appears to snap, leaving the classic car skidding up the hill on its exhaust. While Gaso managed to bring it to an instant halt, the same can’t be said for the wheel, which went on its own little joyride down the track, through the kitty litter, before almost colliding with a pursuing car. Classic racing is never boring.
