We love the Rover SD1 at Goodwood. We love how it looks a bit like a Ferrari Daytona if you squint. We love its V8. We love the way it races in the Gerry Marshall Trophy. So the idea of hurling one around some lovely closed mountain roads in New Zealand is a pretty good one to us.

Which brings us to this. The Adelaide Classic Rally is not an event that’s crossed our paths much, but after watching this and looking at their rather picture heavy website it’s one that’s just joined our bucket list.
The premise is pretty simple, some awesome-looking roads in southern Australia, some lovely classic cars. No holds barred. And this onboard video from an SD1 is a perfect introduction. The Rover sounds wonderful as always, and the roads almost immediately have us salivating. There’s even a broken Mazda RX-7 for you to see quite early on.
If anyone needs us for the next few hours, we’ll be booking our flight to Adelaide for December.
