You have to love a good old-fashioned track day for the sheer variety of machinery people bring out. This one at Zolder is no exception. In fact, it’s proof of the rule.
Video: The most eclectic track day ever?
On the vaguely road-related side of things, you have a bright-orange Subaru, be-winged BMWs, warbling Fords, track-prepped Lotuses, what appears to once have been a Citroën 2CV, now modified beyond recognition and with a motorbike engine and much more.
In terms of the more track-focused stuff, the usual crop of Caterhams is present and correct, in addition to a very non-standard Lotus Exige and even an Ultima. Then there are the single-seaters, ranging from Formula Juniors and Formula Fords, to slightly more serious wing-wearing stuff.
None of it – we repeat none of it – tops the Mondeo ST220 with a massive wing, diffuser and a missing bumper.
