Is this one of the most astonishing racing cars of all time? There have been some absolutely savage machines produced in the USA over the years – Cobras, Mustangs, Galaxies and the like. But from a more modern era, there’s surely nothing more brutal than this Dodge Viper GTS-R with its 8.0-litre, 750PS (552kW) V10 seemingly bursting out from within that enormous bonnet.
Video: V10 Dodge Viper GTS‑R thrashed up Goodwood Hill
This is surely one of the most iconic sights of motorsport from the early 2000s. Bedecked in that instantly recognisable PlayStation 2 livery, with those yellow headlights and that imposing rear wing, it’s alarming enough watching this car absolutely nail it up the Hill at the 2022 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. God knows what it must be like to experience this kind of savage power from behind the wheel.
We imagine it’s a bit of an adrenaline rush. But it’s safe to say we could listen to that V10 howl all day long. Enjoy!
