It’s a rare opportunity these days to see a full grid of racers from this F1 era. That this happens to be the Monaco grid adds another level of emotion into the mix. Some of the sport’s most famous cars, decked out in their iconic liveries, were pitched against each other to deliver what can only be described as an extremely entertaining race on a gloriously sunny day in Monte Carlo.
The list of names is enough to make the hair stand up on the back of F1 fans’ necks. McLaren, Ferrari, Tyrrell, Lotus, March, Shadow and more were accounted for, with cars driven by the likes of Jochen Rindt, Emerson Fittipaldi, Ronnie Peterson, Niki Lauda, James Hunt and Graham Hill in period. Need we say more?
We’re pleased to say the racing lives up to the hype, as these in cases 50-year-old machines weave through the Monaco streets at full chat, with the unmistakeable sound of Cosworth DFVs echoing from all directions. Strap in and enjoy this unmissable spectacle, complete with a dramatic battle for the win between Stuart Hall in a McLaren M23 and Marco Werner in a Lotus 76.
