We’ve had some gorgeous Lola T70s racing at Goodwood at both the Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport and the Goodwood Revival over the years. They look and sound sublime as they dice with other sports prototypes in the form of GT40s and McLaren M1As.
Video: The Lola T70 is a viciously powerful ’70s prototype
One variant of the Lola T70 we see less frequently here at Goodwood, due to it being a post ‘66 model, is the Mk3B. The Mk3B, featured in this video, is a 1969 T70 that ran in the 1,000km races of Buenos Aires, Monza and Spa in 1970.
The straight back design, reminiscent of a couple of Porsche 917Ks, is as beautiful today as it was in period. Couple that design with a 456PS (335kW) 5.0-litre V8 Chevrolet engine and you have an intoxicating combination.
Sit back, relax, and listen to 12 minutes of utter bliss as Niki Pastorelli wrestles the Lola T70 Mk3B by DHG Racing around the Misano Circuit in Rimini.
