On Track Today: AC Owners' Club Sprint... but it wasn't all V8 muscle

Just because the sprint at the circuit today was organised by the AC Owners’ Club doesn’t mean that the entry list was exclusive to the marque. Amongst the Aces and Cobras, as well as earlier AC models, there were Aston Martins, Lotuses and even the odd historic Formula Three car. There was even a Cobra replica competing, in the form of Cheng Lim’s hugely powerful Ram.

As well as a broad cross-section of cars on track (the aforementioned Lotuses were as diverse as a Lotus Bristol and 340R), there was also plenty of road cars around the paddocks. These included examples of the 1940s 2-litre saloon and the 1990s Ace, both rare and intriguing in different ways. 

The people we spoke to were all enjoying a day’s competition in the unseasonably good November weather.
