We’re no strangers to V8s here at Goodwood, but sometimes the circuit reverberates to the thumping beat of something a bit different…
When the opportunity arose for a spot of last-minute track time, we knew just who to call. You may have seen a variety of hot rods at FoS and Revival over the years, and for quite some time we’ve been thinking it would be great to run a few on the circuit for a video shoot.
And so it proved. We had enormous fun with the trio of machines pictured here, and thought we’d whet your appetite with a brief gallery.
The day wasn’t without its challenges; not least driving the 9.5 litre, supercharged, big-block Chevy-engined Willys gasser on open headers in such a way that it stayed within the noise limits. We managed it… just!
The other cars in attendance were a five-window ’29 Ford with a Chrysler Hemi and a ’36 Ford pickup running a small block Chevy. Big thanks to Max, Simon, and Greg for bringing their machines along to the circuit, and look out for more pictures of the gasser and a short film featuring all three cars soon!
