For 28 years, Prodrive’s HQ has been a landmark for petrolheads travelling up and down the M40. We can never help wondering what’s going on inside those walls when we drive past. Over the years, it’s seen the construction of machines a diverse as Colin McRae’s Subaru rally cars, BAR F1 cars and Aston Martin endurance racers.
But today is the last day the race team will occupy the famous site, as it marked by posting this flag-flying photo to Twitter.
The company will move to the old Hella factory, which is much bigger and being redeveloped for its own purposes, which will eventually lead to 250 new jobs. Prodrive’s excellent factory tours, which let you get up close to some of their historic racing and rally machines, will recommence next spring.
